Personal Life
Pich Sambath, born “Phoeun Sambath,” came into the world on October 12, 2002, in Kandoul village, Por Angkrong commune, Borset district, Kampong Speu Province. As the eldest son in a family of four siblings—two brothers and two sisters—Sambath’s upbringing was rooted in the rural lifestyle of Kampong Speu. His father worked as a construction foreman, while his mother tended to the family’s agricultural needs. Notably, Sambath’s younger brother, Phoeun Vansing, delved into Kun Khmer training under the ring name Phan Singhak.
At the age of 19, Sambath ventured into his first Khmer boxing match, igniting his passion for the sport. Despite his initial dedication, his formal education only reached the seventh grade before he decided to pursue other opportunities.
In 2019, Sambath commenced his Khmer boxing training, yet financial constraints prompted him to temporarily halt his pursuits and seek alternative employment. However, driven by a renewed sense of purpose and under the guidance of Mr. Pich Sophann, Sambath reimmersed himself in training in 2021, a commitment he remains steadfast in today.
