Thun Sihong (Khmer: ធន់ ស៊ីហុង), born in 2005, is a rising Kun Khmer fighter from Prey Veng Province. Nicknamed “Runtah Chheung Pikhat”—loosely translated as “The Thunderous Killer Kick”—Sihong is widely recognized for his fighting style and endurance.
The Prey Veng-born fighter honed his craft under the guidance of Master Thun Sophea, a Kun Khmer legend, and trains alongside top fighters such as Lorn Panha, Thun Rithy, Bun Sothea, and Thun Vanna.
In November 2024, Sihong made history by becoming the fastest Cambodian fighter to win the 57kg title, knocking out Greek fighter Tahir Dervishi at the end of the first round. Dervishi was counted twice by the referee before the decisive knockout at a Kun Khmer event held in Greece.
A month later, in December 2024, Sihong was selected to compete at the MTGP Championship event in London, UK. However, his opponent, Jamie Williamson, withdrew due to health issues, and no substitute could be arranged. As a result, Sihong was automatically awarded the MTGP belt. Despite the outcome, Sihong expressed disappointment at not earning the title in the ring and announced his decision to place the belt up for contest within 3 to 6 months.
On 30 March 2025, Sihong claimed victory in the 60kg division after an outstanding performance in the marathon bouts hosted by PNN TV. He secured his place in the final by winning his first bout against an Iranian fighter on points. In the championship match, he dominated his Moroccan opponent, scoring a knockout in the second round to claim the title.
On 22 November 2025, Sihong made his 80th bout a memorable one as he knocked down his Malaysian opponent in the first round with repeated leg kicks that forced three 8-counts and led to a referee stoppage. The fight took place in Prey Veng, his hometown, during the Dragon Kun Khmer event hosted by TVK, giving the local crowd plenty to cheer about.
On 30 November 2025, Sihong delivered another memorable moment when he knocked down a French fighter known for winning several past matchups against Cambodian opponents. Both athletes traded strong blows from round one to round five, and Sihong ended the fight with a well-timed flying knee that dropped his opponent late in the final round. The victory earned him the Cambodia Supper Warrior Kun Khmer’s Golden trophy, presented by Hang Meas HDTV at an event held in Battambang province.
With a bright future ahead, Sihong’s talent, determination, and discipline position him as one of Cambodia’s most promising Kun Khmer fighters.
