Him Serey (Khmer: ហ៊ឹម សេរី), born in 1998 in Kampong Speu Province, is a professional Kun Khmer fighter known by the nickname “Meat La-et Chet Damrey”—loosely translated as “small body with big gut.”
Serey has dedicated his life to Kun Khmer, a passion he shares with his younger brother, Him Kimrieng, who was inspired by his journey. For both brothers, their martial arts careers have not only been a source of pride but also a way to improve their livelihoods. Serey began his career earning modest bout fees, starting at around $50, and worked tirelessly to build his reputation in the sport.
Despite his talent and dedication, Serey remains relatively under-recognized, possibly due to competing in the lightweight (51kg) division, which has fewer opportunities for international matches compared to heavier classes. This has limited his exposure beyond domestic competitions, even as he continues to demonstrate skill and perseverance in the ring.
Serey trains under Master Meas Sokry at the Chrey Saen Chey Kampong Speu Boxing Gym and competes in the orthodox stance, representing the traditional fighting spirit of Kun Khmer.
