Hong Sovan Chansothy (Khmer: ហុង សុវណ្ណចន្ទសុធី), born in 2003 in Kampong Speu Province, is a rising star in the Kun Khmer fighting scene. Standing at 1.70 meters and weighing 60 kg, Chansothy trains at the Special Forces Command under the guidance of his trainer, Hang Makhen.
Journey into Kun Khmer
Entering the world of Kun Khmer in 2018, Sothy had a strong passion for this martial art. Although his father supported him in joining the sport, his mother was initially not in favor. However, she now approves of his journey. Chansothy believes that the sport will help improve his family’s livelihood.
Fighting Style and Philosophy
Chansothy is known for his humble demeanor and strong commitment to fight with all his strength. In many of his interviews, he appears very humble, never expressing arrogance towards his opponents.
Despite his recent defeat by title holder Rin Davith on December 15, 2024, where he was knocked down in the middle of round 4 of the five-round bout while challenging Davith for the belt, Chansothy remains a promising figure in the Kun Khmer world.
On 16 August 2025, Sothy claimed a trophy and cash prize after stopping Puth Sambo midway through the second round with a decisive kick to Sambo’s left leg. The two fighters had advanced to this matchup after defeating their respective opponents on points earlier the same evening. The bout took place at the Boostrong Kun Khmer Event, hosted by PNN TV. Sothy faced off against Thun Phanith in five tough rounds and became the New Boostrong Champion on the final match on 13 September 2025.
On 8 February 2026, Sothy challenged Khim Bora for the Golden Belt on Hang Meas Kun Khmer. Despite a hard-fought five-round battle, Sothy ultimately lost on points.

| NOTE: Fight records of Kun Khmer fighters vary across TV stations. Therefore, I maintain an independent tally, adding one after each new fight to ensure consistency. These statistics include bouts under all rules such as Kun Khmer, Mas Fight, MMA, and Kickboxing and at all levels, including amateur fights, as Kun Khmer has historically lacked a standardized recording system. As a result, totals may appear higher than those of some international fighters, whose records often include only professional bouts. | |
