Prathap Dai
The armbands worn by Kun Khmer fighters are known as “Prathap Dai” or simply shortened to just “Prathap” as “Dai” means “arms” in English. Similar to the Tey Krou, Prathap Dai are typically worn around the upper arms believed to bestow protection, luck, and courage upon the wearer. Unlike the Tey Krou, that needs to be removed before the actual fight starts, Prathap can also be worn during combat, adding a distinctive element to their use in the sport.
Both Tey Krou and Prathap are often made of Klok Techah or Ambaoh Mongkul.
