His remarkable journey includes a Gold medal triumph at the 2023 SEA Games, where he proudly carried the flag for Team Cambodia during the opening ceremony.

    Samnang, affectionately known among sports enthusiasts as “Cheang Kat Sak Dai Ek” or “The Barber,” seamlessly combines his roles as a formidable fighter and a skilled barber at a popular Phnom Penh barbershop. In a notable move, he ventured into the realm of music by signing a two-year contract as a singer with Bong Plerng Media in 2023.

    Career Highlights

    On April 15, 2023, Samnang faced Thai martial arts luminary Sudsakorn Sor Klinmee under Kun Khmer rules in Cambodia. The match, set against the vibrant backdrop of Siem Reap during the traditional New Year celebration, resulted in a resounding unanimous decision in favor of Samnang.

    Thai Fight Triumphs

    February 5, 2023, witnessed Samnang’s victory over former IBF Muay Thai champion Thomas Carpenter from England, earning him the Thai Fight Kard Chuek championship title. On February 26, 2023, he continued his winning streak by defeating Russian kickboxer Firdavszhon Naiimov on the Thai Fight stage in a swift two-minute match.

    SEA Games Achievements

    Having secured a bronze medal in the 2021 SEA Games in Vietnam, Samnang’s return marked an undefeated streak with numerous knockouts. In the 2023 SEA Games held in Cambodia, he clinched the gold medal in the 81 kg weight category, defeating Tun Tun Min from Myanmar and receiving a house from sports drink company Boostrong as a reward.
