Ricky Sengthorng (Khmer: រីគី សេងថង), born Penh Vanthorng in 2011, is a boxer and Kun Khmer fighter from Prey Veng Province. He is known for his passion for Amboh Chhao (bare-knuckle fighting) and competes in the 63.5 kg division. Standing at 1.7 meters tall, he fights in the relatively rare southpaw stance.
Sengthorng trains at Klarokhen Mean Rithi Gym, which translates to “The Mighty Panther,” under the guidance of coach Mr. Ricky. Before training Kun Khmer Sengthorng was already in national boxing team.
Career Highlights and Achievements
With around 40 fights to his name as of this writing, Sengthorng has secured many victories, a large number of them by TKO. This is largely due to his focus on Amboh Chhao bouts, where fights are more intense and often end in stoppages rather than decisions. Because of the higher risk compared to standard boxing or MMA gloves, relatively few fighters are willing to compete under these conditions.
Sengthorng was once among the most sought-after fighters, drawing strong interest from fans who wanted to see him in the ring. However, he later disappeared from competition for an extended period, with little public information about his absence. He has only recently returned, and since then, he appears to be in strong form, maintaining an unbeaten streak so far.
As of now, detailed information about his career and personal background remains limited, but his recent comeback suggests there is more to come.

| NOTE: Fight records of Kun Khmer fighters vary across TV stations. Therefore, I maintain an independent tally, adding one after each new fight to ensure consistency. These statistics include bouts under all rules such as Kun Khmer, Mas Fight, MMA, and Kickboxing and at all levels, including amateur fights, as Kun Khmer has historically lacked a standardized recording system. As a result, totals may appear higher than those of some international fighters, whose records often include only professional bouts. | |
