Rin Saroth (Khmer: រិន សារ័ត្ន), born in 1995 in Prey Veng Province, is a Kun Khmer fighter with humble beginnings nicknamed the “Eagle King”.
Kun Khmer Career
Born to farmer parents, Saroth left school at a young age to pursue Kun Khmer training, aiming to contribute to his family’s finances with his earnings from the sport. Saroth’s talent and dedication propelled him to become a notable figure in the sport.
Transition to Mixed Martial Arts
In 2013, seeking a new challenge, Saroth made his cage debut in mixed martial arts (MMA), leveraging his elite striking background to secure a victory by TKO. He fell in love with competing in the cage and rapidly made three more appearances over the following year.
Saroth made his ONE Championship debut in December 2015, winning by armbar submission and showcasing his evolving skill set. Since then, he has continued to sharpen his skills, training daily with elite Cambodian martial artists, including Meas Meul, Thai Rithy, and Sim Bunsrun, all of whom have found success on the global stage of ONE Championship.
A Historic Milestone: The GMA Championship
On December 27, 2025, Rin Saroth etched his name into the history books by capturing the GMA (Gods of Martial Arts) Mixed Martial Arts Championship in the 63kg category. In a high-stakes showdown held in Vietnam, Sarath faced off against local favorite Nguyen Vu in a grueling five-round battle. Showcasing incredible cardio and tactical discipline across five 5-minute rounds, Sarath secured the victory by points, marking his first-ever professional championship belt. While the 32-year-old veteran has enjoyed a decorated 13-year career since his debut in 2013, earning numerous Kun Lbokator medals and Kun Khmer trophies, this GMA title represents the crowning achievement of his journey, filling the one gap that remained in his impressive trophy cabinet.
Reflecting on the victory, an emotional Saroth noted that this belt is the reward for over a decade of persistence and sacrifice. “I am incredibly moved; after 13 years of competing, I have finally become a GMA champion here in Vietnam,” he stated. Looking forward, the new champion remains as dedicated as ever, pledging to maintain his rigorous training standards to defend his title. “This is my career and my passion. Whether a fight is scheduled or not, I will continue to train every day to stay ready, because I am determined to protect this belt and honor my profession.”

| NOTE: Fight records of Kun Khmer fighters vary across TV stations. Therefore, I maintain an independent tally, adding one after each new fight to ensure consistency. These statistics include bouts under all rules such as Kun Khmer, Mas Fight, MMA, and Kickboxing and at all levels, including amateur fights, as Kun Khmer has historically lacked a standardized recording system. As a result, totals may appear higher than those of some international fighters, whose records often include only professional bouts. | |
