Rithy Kingkong

Rithy Kingkong (Khmer: រិទ្ធី គីងកុង; born Lyhorng in 2016) is a Cambodian Kun Khmer practitioner from Phnom Penh. He is known for competing at a young age in junior-level bouts. He is also referred to by the nickname Kon Kingkong Pikheat (“Young Killer Kingkong”).

    Early life and background

Rithy Kingkong was born in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. He developed an interest in Kun Khmer during his primary school years, influenced by his older brother, Rithy Lyhuo, who is also a practitioner of the sport. After initially declining, his father later allowed him to begin training following repeated requests.

    Training and amateur development

Kingkong began training as part of a youth program at Kun Khmer Super Fight Gym under the supervision of coach Phat Soda, who also gave him the ring name “Kingkong.” His participation in the sport has taken place within a structured training environment appropriate for his age group. Alongside his training, he continues his general education at the primary school level.

    Fighting style

Kingkong competes in the 26 kg division and stands approximately 1.27 m tall. He fights in a southpaw stance, which is relatively uncommon among Kun Khmer practitioners. His style has been described as forward-pressing.

    Career

Kingkong has participated in junior-level bouts both domestically and internationally, including events held in Japan, Malaysia, and Thailand. He has won two youth-level titles, with one title won in Japan and another in Malaysia.

On 29 March 2026, during a bout broadcast on KTV, he scored a knockdown against a Cambodian opponent approximately 30 seconds into the first round with a body kick.

    Influences

Kingkong has cited Cambodian fighter Pich Sambath as an influence, particularly noting his fighting style.

NOTE: Fight records of Kun Khmer fighters vary across TV stations. Therefore, I maintain an independent tally, adding one after each new fight to ensure consistency. These statistics include bouts under all rules such as Kun Khmer, Mas Fight, MMA, and Kickboxing and at all levels, including amateur fights, as Kun Khmer has historically lacked a standardized recording system. As a result, totals may appear higher than those of some international fighters, whose records often include only professional bouts.
