Soth Veasna

Soth Veasna (Khmer: សូត្រ វាសនា), born in 2002 in Phnom Penh, is a Kun Khmer fighter affectionately known by his nicknames “The Golden Blade Spear” and “The Little Knight.”

From a young age, Veasna displayed a deep passion for martial arts, with roots in Kun Khmer running deep. Inspired by his brother, Soth Bunthy, who is also a prominent fighter and also serves as his trainer at their family-owned Baksey Slap Daek Gym, Veasna has steadily built a promising career, blending discipline and skill with a relentless fighting spirit.

As more opportunity in Kun Khmer continues to rise, Veasna has shown impressive growth, improving from fight to fight. On January 5, 2025, he delivered a standout performance against a veteran Thai opponent, earning thunderous cheers from the crowd. Over five thrilling rounds, Veasna showcased sharp techniques and resilience, even opening a cut on his opponent’s nose. His dominance secured a unanimous decision victory, crowning him the 12th Carabao Champion and earned him a big money prize.

With his talent, determination, and family support, Veasna is poised for even greater success in the years to come as long as he keeps the consistency.

In early April, Veasna moved from Baksey Slap Daek, where he trained under his brother Bunthy, to Kun Khmer Daun Ta Gym, operated by Town Full HDTV, under the guidance of Master Khim Socheat. On 03 April 2025, he was matched against a Japanese fighter and secured a TKO victory at the end of the first round after inflicting a deep cut on his opponent’s forehead, prompting the referee to stop the fight during the break.

NOTE: Fight records of Kun Khmer fighters vary across TV stations. Therefore, I maintain an independent tally, adding one after each new fight to ensure consistency. These statistics include bouts under all rules such as Kun Khmer, Mas Fight, MMA, and Kickboxing and at all levels, including amateur fights, as Kun Khmer has historically lacked a standardized recording system. As a result, totals may appear higher than those of some international fighters, whose records often include only professional bouts.
