Thab Pheakdey (Khmer: ថាប់ ភក្តី), formerly known as Elit Pheakdey and recently adopting the name Pheakdey Kun Khmer, was born in 1999 in Phnom Penh. Despite facing challenges early in life, Pheakdey has emerged as a prominent figure in the world of Kun Khmer.
Journey into Kun Khmer
Pheakdey’s childhood was marked by adversity; orphaned due to his parents’ divorce, he was raised by his grandmother in Borei Keila, Veal Vong commune. Determined to make a living, he immersed himself in training activities from a young age.In his latest bout, Pheakdey faced off against a Russian opponent at the unveiling of Town HD TV’s new circular ring. Displaying his skill and determination, Pheakdey delivered an exhilarating performance throughout the three rounds of bare-knuckle combat. His tenacity and technique earned him a victory by the judge’s decision, further solidifying his reputation as a formidable Kun Khmer fighter.
Transition to Kun Khmer Daun Ta Gym
Pheakdey Kun Khmer, previously known as Elit Pheakdey, adopted his new name after joining the Kun Khmer Daun Ta gym under the management of Town HDTV. This move occurred when renowned trainer and gym owner Elit Sorn decided to shut down his gym, Kun Khmer Elit, for reasons unknown.

| NOTE: Fight records of Kun Khmer fighters vary across TV stations. Therefore, I maintain an independent tally, adding one after each new fight to ensure consistency. These statistics include bouts under all rules such as Kun Khmer, Mas Fight, MMA, and Kickboxing and at all levels, including amateur fights, as Kun Khmer has historically lacked a standardized recording system. As a result, totals may appear higher than those of some international fighters, whose records often include only professional bouts. | |
