Thun Vanna

    Thun Vanna (Khmer: ធន់ វណ្ណា), born in 2004 and better known by his ring moniker “The Gecko King” (Khmer: ស្តេចតុកែ), is a professional Kun Khmer fighter originally from Kratie Province, Cambodia. Vanna burst onto the Kun Khmer scene and rapidly ascended through its ranks, earning widespread acclaim for his masterful clinching techniques and unyielding stamina. His nickname, inspired by the gecko’s reputed ability to endure and adapt, perfectly encapsulates his approach in the ring.

In this intense five-round battle, Vanna fought valiantly but ultimately losing by points, losing his only Krud Kun Khmer belt as well as ending a 30-fight undefeated streak. This rare defeat in his otherwise stellar record tested not only his physical skills but also his mental resilience, as he navigated the complexities of experiencing loss at such a high level for the first time. Sambath is known for his excellent stamina, but Vanna continued to exchange punches until the end of round five.
